Star Trek The Next Generation

Make Up by Wendie, from Let Me Paint Your Face. To boldly go where no one has gone before.

Star Trek The Next Generation

Let Me paint your face carried out the make up today for Star Trek Characters Jean-Luc Picard, Data and Warf from the star ship enterprise.  Yes we boldly went were no other Make Up Artist has gone before. (Ancoats, Manchester)  The characters mingled with the general public in Manchester City Centre.  Visiting places such as Piccadilly Train Station to have a coffee in the train station cafe with Manchester’s commuters.  Deangate Manchester was also visited by these awesome characters.  We had alot of fun with these guys watching peoples reactions as they carried out ordinary every day tasks on the cities street.  Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) focuses on the 24th century adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-D).  This incarnation of the famous starship is much larger than the one captained by James T. Kirk a century earlier, and, accordingly, it carries a larger crew complement: 1,012 men, women…and, surprisingly, children.  This era’s Starfleet Command believes that men and women are more likely to sign up for long-term exploratory missions if they think of their ship as home.  Thus, Picard’s crew enjoys many of the comforts they’d have otherwise left behind, including a wide variety of recreational opportunities, “replicated” food dishes to suit every palate, and quarters large enough to share with spouses and offspring.  There are schools for the children and a bar (stocked with synthetic alcohol, or synthehol) where the adults can unwind.  However, the ongoing mission—no longer limited to a mere five years—remains virtually the same as it was during Kirk’s time: to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no one has gone before.

Had such alot of fun today with Manchester City Football Club, painting the faces of all the players’ children over at their training ground in Carrington.  The children were lovely and it was great to see the players in action, at close quarters.  I was lucky enough to have my lunch with a few of them to.   I painted a mini mouse that was fabulous and just to make the day special I gave her a balloon wand to wish the players lots of luck and magic.

Manchester City’s training ground is situated away from the City of Manchester in Trafford, like that of neighbours Manchester United who also have a training ground nearby. The training ground is adjacent to a public footpath, allowing members of the public and photographers to watch training sessions freely in the past.[4] In recent years, a six-foot tarpaulin curtain surrounds the training ground, with photographers and members of the public resorting to step ladders and perching themselves on trees to watch training sessions. City have attempted to seek planning permission from Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council to increase the height of the barrier from six feet, the maximum height permitted without planning permission. With the six-foot tarpaulin surrounding the ground, it’s a wonder I found it first time.

Rambottom Music Festival

Mockfest

Mockfest

Worked face painting at the Ramsbottom Music Festival in Ramsbottom Bury.  The weather held out long enough for, Let Me Paint Your Face to recreate some beautiful festival faces for adults and children alike. The music was fabulous with Sinead O’Conner heading a star line up at this years music festival.  Three of the biggest names in British folk music, Eliza Carthy, Gella Hardy and Kate Young performed an amazing set.  It was such a chilled family friendly atmosphere and what a great weeken-full of music from established performers and new emerging talent. Even the rain on Sunday in Ramsbottom, did not dampen our spirits.

Carried out vampire blood and gore make up today for a short film. Filmed out on location in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, which is between Shudehill and Victoria Station, just inbetween Tibs Street and Oldham Street.  Working in connection with The Pie Factory as part of the media development at Salford Quays, this short film was created for a large social media company to be used as part of its advertising campaign. The set was an old disused cotton warehouse, which was very fitting venue for a scary vampire film.  All the actors worked enormously hard through out the day, delivering outstanding performances.  It’s such good fun to be able to see your work on screen as the actors get into their roles and make you make up come alive.  I get a thrill every time I see this happen. They were all very professional and ultra  talented.

Are You Looking For Something Special.

What a wonderful way to celebrate having a bump. Bump or pregnant belly paining is a wonderful package for mums to be.

It includes having your bump  painted to a design of your choosing.  You will be painted in a friendly relaxed atmosphere, and don’t worry, you will have plenty of loo breaks.  A typical bump painting can take up to two hours to complete.  ( for those with stretch marks, don’t worry the paint will cover them.  If you already have a children, we can paint them as well  so they can be included in your photographs and you will have a treasured keepsake of your pregnancy.  Bump Painting is  a perfect gift for a baby shower, we can even come along and paint you amongst the company of your closest friends.

This Lady was painted in her own home whilst having her baby shower, in Bury, Greater Manchester.  The image is “The Tree of Life”. It was so utterly convincing that people though it was part of the dress she was wearing.

Not since “The taste of honey”, A moving story of a plain young girl who becomes pregnant by a black sailor, befriends a homosexual, and gradually becomes a woman. directed by  Tony Richardson With: Rita TushinghamDora BryanRobert Stephens has filming been carried out on the side of the Manchester swingbridge, Salford, Greater Manchester, England. However, surprise, surprise I was there doing the Make Up for all the cast of a short film about Manchester life and Manchester people. I can’t say too much at this stage in the game but pictures will be blogged and the story told, once I have permission to use them on this site.  The location was fabulous but very cold in this January weather. Its great to be involved in such a extraordinary production about Manchester.

What an exceptional actor this guy was. So professional and really got into the character. Blood and guts were everywhere, it was a very hectic day of filming but equally very rewarding. The cast and crew were excellent and made me feel so at home on the set. The Venue for the Shoot was a disused warehouse in Ancoats, Manchester. Look out for the film on social media gaming sites near you. Bit macabre, but I love the blood and guts make up.
